Form D2020 is the DRCA version of the liability claim form. It covers peacetime service from 1972 to 30 June 2004.

Important: From 1 July 2026, the DRCA closes to new compensation claims. All new claims after that date will be lodged under the improved MRCA using form D2051.

If you are planning to lodge a DRCA claim, do so before 1 July 2026. From 31 March 2025, claims must be complete when lodged.

Complete Claims Requirement

From 31 March 2025, DVA checks claims for completeness at intake. A complete claim requires this form fully completed, correct proof of identity, and a medical diagnosis. If any of these are missing, your claim will be placed on hold — but your lodgement date is still registered. Use our Evidence Builder to check you have the mandatory items ready.
